I remembered this day well. I was finishing up my last month in school and I was getting ready to graduate. Thinking that I am finally finishing up with school and I am going to get my dream job.
I excelled in school and finished a 4 year degree in just 28 months and graduated at the top of my class with the highest Latin honors of Summa Cum Laude.
Days and nights would go by studying and doing research without sleep. So when the day came to finally graduate, I was so excited. After graduation, I became a medical case manager where I treated patients HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C Infections and Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Then funding was cut for Public health and I was left without a job.
I applied to hundreds of jobs online and offline.
It was a struggle to find employment not just in my discipline but to find a job period. So many people in NY was struggling to find employment. I went on a handful of interviews and even flew cross country on interviews. I was willing at this point to relocate if I did get hired. It was still a struggle to find employment. So, I decided to go back to school to study Acupuncture and Oriental medicine. After studying for so many years, I could not find a job.
One day, I was on Facebook and I saw someone who was telling his story and I contacted him that night and this was how I got into network marketing.
Even though I couldn’t find a job, it was a blessing in disguise.
I had no knowledge of Attraction Marketing or Network Marketing. Damn, I didn’t know how to even do a live video. But at this point in my life, I did not have a plan B, so I went all in and i am happy I did. It was a learning curve for me in the beginning. I knew I had to learn as much as I can.
Not once did I second guessed myself.
I came to realize that your dream job doesn’t exist, you have to create it. If I had found this industry years ago, I would have never went back to school.
